H.E. Ambassador Innocent E. Shiyo welcomed H.E. Rastislav Križan, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Ethiopia, for a courtesy visit to the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Addis Ababa. This was Ambassador Križan’s first visit to the Tanzanian Embassy since presenting his Letters of Credence in June 2026.
The two Ambassadors exchanged views on ways to further strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation, as well as collaboration in international diplomacy and global issues of mutual interest between Tanzania and Slovakia. The discussions underscored the importance of continued consultations and coordination in international forums, particularly in promoting peace, security, and international cooperation.
During the meeting, Ambassador Križan briefed Ambassador Shiyo on the decision by the Government of Slovakia to reopen its Embassy in Dar es Salaam. The move is expected to provide further impetus to strengthening diplomatic relations and cooperation between Tanzania and Slovakia.
Ambassador Shiyo wished Ambassador Križan and the Government of Slovakia every success in their preparations and execution of responsibilities as non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the 2028–2029 term, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and coordination on matters of peace and security.
